Last year, hundreds of Iowa FCCLA members participated in STAR events. Were you one of them? If not, why not participate this year? STAR events are the perfect way to show how limitless you are! Get ready for a ride that will push your leadership past any limits you thought you had! With STAR events there are no limits! Any project you can dream of can be made into a STAR event!
STAR events stand for Students Taking Action with Recognition. They are competitive events that any FCCLA member can compete in. Members are recognized for their individual and chapter achievements through STAR events from district competition to state and even onto national STAR event competition held at the National Leadership Conference!
With 31 categories, there is something for everybody! Be sure to check all of them out to find the perfect fit for you!
Now is the perfect time to get your ideas flowing and find the category you want to participate in! A great way to choose is to read through the STAR event descriptions on the Iowa FCCLA website (www.iafccla.org/star-events) and find your top 3 interests. From there, you can start forming project ideas for each category. Choose the category that you are most passionate about and take off from there! There are no limits to what you can do!
